“La voluntad tarada” es una selección para lectores y lectoras, todavía sin iniciarse en el mundo del reconocido escritor argentino Roberto Arlt. Mezcla ficción y no-ficción y a veces no queda claro si el narrador es Arlt o una de sus máscaras ficticias. Por lo general da lo mismo. Ambas comparten el mismo espíritu rabioso y urbano. Es un libro descarnado, sí, pero uno en el que por eso mismo se rastrean pistas de las escrituras urbanas que hoy exploran la violencia social.
A Roberto Arlt le interesaban los libros, pero también todo aquello que no cabía en los libros. A veces, por ejemplo, el argentino miraba por la ventana y escribía esto: “Cada ventana iluminada en la noche crecida, es una historia que aún no se ha escrito”. Y puede que haya sido el espíritu joven, esa energía que lo consumía, lo que finalmente terminó por matarlo. Roberto Emilio Godofredo Arlt, hijo de inmigrantes europeos y pobres y recién llegados a Argentina, nació en 1900 en Buenos Aires. Durante su vida publicó cuatro novelas y varios libros de cuentos y crónicas o aguafuertes. También algunas obras de teatro. Y viajó por España, partes de África, Brasil, Uruguay y Chile. Y tuvo dos esposas, un hijo y una hija. Murió joven, de un paro cardiaco, a los 42 años. /

Roberto Emilio Godofredo Arlt, the son of poor European immigrants who had recently arrived in Argentina, was born in 1900 in Buenos Aires. During his lifetime, he published four novels and several books of short stories, chronicles, and etchings. He also published some plays. He traveled throughout Spain, parts of Africa, Brazil, Uruguay, and Chile. He had two wives, a son, and a daughter. He died young, of cardiac arrest, at the age of 42.
