There are the two young men who grew up in a hippie community lost in the mountains; the former bodybuilder who recovers from his failure in a healing writing program in New York and writes intense messages to his mother; the melancholic and volatile ghostwriter who writes the lives of suicidal college students; and the hungover postcards of a narrator who, waiting for a bit of marijuana, walks along the seafront of a city where remembering is impossible.
